Space has been one of the disappointing issues we experienced when we tested the current Suzuki Jimny and it seems like our prayers have been answered.
Well, that’s if the recent report by Auto Car India is to be believed.
According to the report, the Suzuki Jimny will reportedly grow into a five-door model for the Indian market. The company intends to introduce this model to the country first and sell the three-door model there later, Autocar India reports citing an inside source.
It remains to be seen if the five-door Jimny will be exported to other markets.
Close sources further reveal that the stretched Suzuki Jimny will ride on a longer wheelbase and that will definitely result in improved cabin space.
Its power is still expected to come from the 1.5-litre unit with 78 kW of power and 130 Nm of torque. It will also come equipped with four-wheel drive and transfer case with low-range gears.
